639. WE-Heraeus-Seminar
Bad Honnef, Germany

Aims of the seminar

The meeting is organised as the 639. WE-Heraeus-Seminar in the Physikzentrum Bad Honnef.

It is convened by the ACPC initiative of ileaps, GEWEX and IGAC.

The goal of the seminar is to make progress on a quantiative understanding of aerosol-cloud-precipitation-climate interactions along the ACPC Science approach.

The seminar specifically will investigate on the basis of the model simulations which observations are most promising to identify signatures of aerosol effects on clouds and precipitation despite the large natural variability. This research benefits from experience with “observations systems simulation experiments” (OSSE). In all discussions, ACPC modelers and observationalists interact closely to address the individual components of aerosols, clouds, precipitation, and radiation, as well as their interactions.
